Virginia has become one of the nation’s most important battlegrounds when it comes to combatting climate change, embracing clean energy, and confronting the corporate powers that insist on polluting our water and our air.

Nowhere is this more obvious than the fight against the Atlantic Coast and Mountain Valley Pipelines. These pipelines are a disaster on so many levels. They will accelerate climate change, will inevitably leak and potentially explode, have resulted in land being seized, ruined the natural beauty in countless areas—and will all cost Virginians billions of dollars with no accompanying reduction in energy bills.

From sea level rise to coal ash ponds to billion-dollar giveaways to Dominion, we must elect lawmakers who understand this isn’t a game: if we don’t act now, Virginia will be irreparably harmed for generations, if not longer.

That’s why as your state Senator, I will:

  • Continue to fight against the Atlantic Coast and Mountain Valley Pipelines, which threaten our land, our water, our air, and even our pocketbooks.
  • Stand up to Dominion by refusing their money, reforming the horrendous 2018 Dominion giveaway law (SB 966), and ensuring that when Dominion takes in excessive profits, that money is promptly refunded to Virginians.
  • Eliminate restrictions that prevent homeowners and businesses from producing or buying their own renewable energy like solar and wind. You shouldn’t need Dominion’s permission to do the right thing when it comes to the climate and clean energy.
